2005 Dodge Sprinter

I live in Beaverton and am selling an outstanding specimen of a long/tall T1N Sprinter. The Engine has 164k miles, and the Transmission has 66k miles. The engine and transmission have been replaced, and have exhaustive maintenance logs from the prior owner; a shuttle company. This is the ultimate Sprinter for a campervan conversion - A very rare ‘passenger’ version which includes many unusual factory options and upgrades (described below) which put it way ahead of the game. For the camper conversion, already included is an adjustable sliding bed frame (with new mattresses/covers) set to mountain bike height, microwave, and lockable tool chest / cabinet system. Also available, is a 12v fridge and Yeti Battery system with solar charger. The photos with the empty interior are included to show how clean this van was before the conversion process began, a testament to how well this Sprinter has been maintained throughout it’s life. Also, this is that rare Sprinter which has been meticulously maintained throughout its life, and after years of service remains mechanically and cosmetically flawless - literally doesn’t have a scratch or dent on it. Engine runs great and transmission shifts smoothly—The company purchased from had a standing policy to rebuild the engine and transmission of every Sprinter in their fleet at 300k. If you believe them (and I do, because nothing else could explain this vehicle's condition), this Sprinter drivetrain only has 80k miles on it. This one has high compression and very responsive turbo; no smoke or vibrations or any mechanical issues. Every maintenance item / log is available in spreadsheet form; from the transport co it was purchased from. We recently invested $5000 in a new driveshaft, heavy duty shocks front & back, a new battery, Turbo hoses, AC service, Glow Plugs and an oil change with full synthetic Mobil 1. The front seats are in great shape, having been reupholstered with leather seat bottoms. It has *new* (less than 200 miles) all-matching tires with the highest 115 load index to handle whatever you throw at them. No error codes or warning lights since we’ve owned the vehicle, no signs *at all* of the ‘black death’ injector problem that plagues some Sprinters. This is the longest, tallest T1N made—the super-high-roof, 158-inch-wheelbase model so folks up to 6’2” can fully stand, and there’s ample room for a full kitchen, queen bed, etc. These 2004-06 models are known as the best production years of any Sprinter—These were the T1N years which had a more reliable engine and are less expensive to maintain than the newer NCV3 version. And the OM-647 engine in this 2005 is much improved over the 2002-03 version, which suffered from problematic emissions systems and fuel pump designs. This is the 2500 Sprinter, which is better than the 3500 “dually” for adventuring because (counter-intuitively) the dually-3500’s don’t achieve nearly as good off-road traction. Upgrades: This particular Sprinter was designed with some very pricy options which make it and ideal passenger vehicle or camper conversion candidate: - Stock Mercedes sliding 2nd row windows on both sides—which open and lock into multiple positions. - Auxiliary Espar diesel cabin heater pre-installed from factory, with Espar on/off switch in dash plus programmable 7-day timer! (So not only do you not need to install your own diesel heater to warm the cabin when the engine is off, but you can program a schedule for this one to turn on/off at night or in the morning). - Block heater installed in engine for easy starting on cold mornings—You could camp in sub-zero weather and plug the block heater into your power inverter! - 2nd row bench seat, complete with their own cupholders - Towing mirrors for wide view - Windows all around - provide a great view of scenery or nature; all with factory dark tint for privacy - Adjustable height headlight controller in dash - to point your headlights where you want regardless of load carried or incline you’re driving - Rear entry grab bar for getting in/out of the sliding door - Factory wiring option for trailer lights, so no need to spend all the time/money installing an aftermarket module for the ECU - Rear passenger compartment is already insulated! This H01 option means the cargo area was **insulated** at the factory. - Front cab is already **insulated**! This H04 option means the front driver cab was insulated at the factory. - Cargo area finish — V21 option for ‘deluxe interior trim’, meaning instead of the ‘bare metal’ cargo area, there are upholstered interior panels and a headliner throughout vehicle. - Comfort rear spring option for carrying passengers instead of just heavy cargo. - Roof mounted stock auxiliary air conditioner for rear passenger compartment. - All-weather rubberized floor mats throughout vehicle!
