Are you dialed in? Vintage 1946 NON OPERATIONAL Arvin Metal Cabinet Tube Radio: This sweet little find is coming to you from 1946 on your dial. I have to admit, I’ve never seen one quite like this. Known as the Arvin Midget, this little baby would sit wherever there was limited room. Usually these radios were made out of Bakelite but this one had an all metal cabinet. It doesn’t work but that doesn’t mean anything if you’re industrious and you know how to work on these kind of things…I just don’t operate on that frequency…the volume knob appears frozen and it is rusty but I like the patina. Measures 6”H x 5”Across x 4”Thick. Like I said, it’s tiny but it packs a punch. I’ve often said that you can change the whole vibe of a room with just a few “key” vintage items; an oscillating fan, an antique typewriter, old cameras and clocks, and a vintage radio. This old radio definitely has an eye catching look and at just $45, it’s definitely not going to make a lot of static.
