I was using this without problems for around 5 years, to avoid the price of streaming services. Now that I bought a smart television I really have no need of it. Works fine no ethernet cable necessary just plug into the wall and plug the Chromecast HDMI to the port on the back of your TV and follow the prompts in Google Home to set it up. All you need is a Wi-Fi connection and an HDMI port in the back of your television and you can watch what's on your phone or laptop conveniently over the wifi connection. Served me well for years before I got married and we got a smart TV.
