Authentic Eames Herman Miller Rosewood Lounge Chair And Ottoman

Up for sale is an authentic, restored, Herman Miller Eames lounge chair and ottoman. This chair is the rarer 2nd generation and dates from the 1960s. It features the highly coveted down filled leather cushions and Brazilian rosewood shells. Originally designed in 1956 this chair has become one of the most significant pieces of 20th century design. Being a second generation chair it features slimmer down filled cushions, round cushions clips, rubber back mounts and rosewood shells. While this chair is still in production at Herman Miller, you can’t buy one like this. Rosewood was banned from production in the 1990s making these chairs that much more unique. This particular chair has been professionally restored! Every detail of this set has been inspected and expertly preserved. Condition: I’ve owned over 20 Eames lounge chairs and this is my favorite one. The original leather on this chair has an excellent patina (with no cracking or scratches), the rosewood shells have been gently refinished and have a lovely grain throughout, the base has been lightly polished and lubricated to ensure smooth operation (no wobbles). Additionally the chair was sent back to the herman miller factory to have the shock mounts replaced, guaranteeing a sturdy chair for years to come). Overall if you’re looking for an Eames 670/671 this is the one to buy. It has been lovingly cared and preserved for years to come.
