These commercial quality speakers are omnidirectional and can be floor mounted or flown. Great sound quality and distribution. Sounds better than the newer and cheaper RS8001. The Soundtube RS80 is a premium 8-inch, two-way, ported, high efficiency, high SPL loudspeaker for distributed or 8 ohm applications. The RS80 features a dedicated 8-inch coated fiber woofer and three 1.75-inch compression tweeters (33.3° apart) housed in Soundtube's patented ZeroReflection cabinets. The Omni360° Dispersion design produces a wider sound in a wider space. ZeroReflection technology features individually “shaped” cabinets for each driver, optimizing performance while eliminating standing wave distortion and unwanted coloration (caused by conventional single cabinets). The woofer is mounted in the RS(T)-ported bass cabinet, eliminating the “boxy” sound typical of traditional speakers. The predictable internal standing wave phenomenon that occurs with both straight tube and polycarbonate cabinets is dissipated through the continuously curved surfaces and heavily damped wall materials of the SoundTube.
