Description

Up for sale is a 607F trombone from King. It is a .525 single bore medium bore tenor trombone with an 8 inch bell. The valve section is also .525 tubing, and the main tubing slide is delacquered. The slide is a solid 8.5-9 once cleaned and lubed (I just did a super deep clean which you may PM for more details) and a valve that has no catch or stops before the bumpers, oiled and cleaned (Again PM for cleaning details) with Ultrapure oils. The slide seal, valve seal, are all perfect. I lapped the tuning slides of the valve to the point the excellent compression of the valve itself is enough to push the tuning slides out if you’re not careful. Generally 90% lacquered, some small blemishes and dings here and there that DO NOT affect the sound and playability and aren’t even near moving parts. No signs of red rot or significant natural lacquer wear. In great to excellent condition. Does not come with mouthpieces. Don’t let the name “sTeP uP” or “iNtErMEdiATe” fool you, this horn does NOT play like those horns. It is the best medium bore tenor out there, possibly in my opinion beating the Bach 36B in terms of playability. I am a bass trombone player mainly, so believe me when I say the low range on this medium tenor is crazy. Low Cs when I pull to E pull (completely doable on this wrap setup) is phat as hell. From the words of Tiffany Johns, a renowned LA area Low brass musician, this horn plays not at all worse than her 3Bs and 3Bfs, as this is literally just a 3BF+ with not so famous small part exchanges. This horn is perfect for musicals, big band when you need something bigger, and an all around great in betweener horn.
