Description

I recently came into possession of an old coin that I believe may date back to the 1500s or 1600s. The coin is larger than a U.S. quarter but noticeably lighter in weight. In my own research, the closest match I have found appears to be an Escudo coin, possibly Spanish or French in origin. The coin has a gold tone and does not react to a magnet, though I have not yet had it tested for metal content. Given its appearance and age, I would greatly appreciate your assistance in identifying the coin and, if possible, providing an appraisal of its authenticity and value.
