Set of 3 - 1943 (P)hiladelphia, (D)enver and (S)an Francisco mints. During World War II, Copper was in short supply and needed for the war effort. A number of different metals were tried, and steel was selected to make pennies. They were coated with Zinc to prevent them from rusting and corroding. In 1944 the regular Copper penny was again produced. This is a great collectible item for kids or grandparents! You get a set of 3 coins like the ones shown in the photos.
