Description
Varga December 1944. This is in great condition with no dents or scratches. Famous artist Alberto Vargas born February 9th 1896 . By the 1920s Vargas had achieved some prominence as an artist. His work for the Ziegfeld follies was astonishingly successful. In the early 1930s he worked for 20th century Fox and for the Warner Brothers. In 1940 Vargas was hired by Esquire where he became famous for his varga girl and the varga calendar. These stylish renditions of beautiful women became the dream fantasies of every serviceman during world war II. Vargas popularity was given its strongest boost when in 1943 the post office revoked Esquires fourth class mail privileges on grounds of the obscenity. The issue was eventually resolved in the magazine's favor. In 1982 at the age of 86 , Vargas died. Please check out my other items and make offers.
