Description
This is an 1890s solid oak, draw leaf, refectory style trestle coffee table The two leaves tuck under the main squared table top. Both of the leaves slide out from underneath the table top to extend into a long coffee table. I have provided pictures to show you how the solid wood mechanism works underneath. Very old leaver technique engineering style. The base/legs as a trestle design in the style of a refectory table. A factory table would be a long table in a monastery. The room of the monastery in which this table would be located is actually called the refectory. Basically, the room where everybody would eat their meals together. Hence, the name, refectory table. This style of trestle refectory is very old and very rare. Hard to find. This is definitely all solid oak and very sturdy. 21 inches tall When leaves are pushed in the table top is 35 x 35 Table top is 35 x 59 when leaves are pulled out These tables sell online at the price anywhere from $800-$2000. I have provided pictures of one that is very, very similar to the one that I am selling that has sold on eBay for $2,000!! I’m asking only $275 for this beautiful historic piece! I can deliver for a $50 delivery fee. Pick up is near the intersection of San Pablo Road and Atlantic Boulevard
