I have a 4X3 trailer that I reinforced with metal as you can see. All the metal pieces on the outside are screwed in but the frame underneath and the hitch are welded. The black plates across the outside are hardened aluminum so they won't rust. I've also reinforced the bottom so it can handle more weight. I don't have pictures of when we took it camping but it carried maybe 500 lbs of our camping gear including a cooler with food with no problem. I painted it all black but it's peeling because I didn't have it covered but you can give it another pass and maybe put varnish or polyurethane so it doesn't peel as easily. I also installed turn signal lights on it and yes they work you can see the adapter in one one the photos posted. If they happen to break you can just unscrew the old one and put a new one in and use the same wiring if you know want.
