This is a wonderful and genuine engraving showing China as it was almost three centuries ago, when this scene was published. This engraving shows the following scenes: “View of the Triumphal Arch in Canton” The image was made from a copper plate engraved by Pierre Quentin Chedel (1705-1763) and printed on laid paper. This historic engraving was published in 1754 in the Histoire Generale des Voyages by Antoine Francois Prevost Size: approximately 10 inches by 7 inches, including margins. Framed in a new simple black frame with white Matt and plexiglass to preserve the art which measures 11” x 14” Condition: Despite its age, the engraving remains in excellent condition, with no significant imperfections. This is an original antique print - it was made almost three centuries ago and is not a reprint or reproduction of any kind. We have 7 engravings of different scenes of China and they’d make a wonderful collage for any wall.
