This chess set was created by the Washington architect Jack Stapleton and distributed to only a few retailers from is 1995 company, Big Deal Designs. There are a few articles depicting this chess set on the web. Most notably from the New York Magazine (August 8, 1994) and from the Washington Post.The set is comprised of glass salt and pepper shakers with chrome tops. The box contains two bags to fill the chess pieces. One bag is filled with peppercorns and the other is filled with sea salt. Both bags are in mint condition and never opened. The board still has the paper wrapping. The chess board is beautiful as well.
