Description
Very rare in excellent condition - stored - never used. Hand-painted dishes by Blue Ridge Southern Pottery. The pattern name is Flower Ring and consists of yellow, red, and blue flowers. Blue Ridge is a type of American dinnerware manufactured by Southern Potteries from the 1930s until 1957. Well known in their day for their underglaze decoration and colorful patterns, Blue Ridge pieces are now popular items with collectors of antique dinnerware. The underglaze technique made the decorations more durable, and while basic patterns were reused consistently, the fact that each piece was hand-painted means that no two pieces are exactly alike. Service for six includes: dinner/luncheon plates 9⅜ inches bread and butter plates 6¼ inches fruit/dessert bowls 5½ inches footed cups with saucers It also includes 2 serving pieces: oval platter 13 inches by 10 inches round vegetable bowl 9¼ inches
