Description

MADE IN 1911 MODEL 66 OILED AND RUNS GREAT SERIAL# G-1465416 INCLUDES SINGER WOOD "BREADBOX" CASE, LIGHT KIT, PEDAL, PDF OF VINTAGE MANUAL   READY-TO-SEW      SUPER COOL LOOKING AND RUNS SMOOTH AS SILK This early model 66 has the first/earliest type of adjustment for the stitch length, a basic metal knob. About a decade after this machine was made, it changed to a lever + later on a dual lever with markings that allowed reverse. These early ones have no reverse. These are lock-stitch machines that use standard class 66 bobbins. Along with the light kit, this one comes in a Singer "breadbox" case from the same era. This was before plastics, and to make this case today would cost more than this machine. The original handle can easily be found but many have "new" handles after 100 years or so. This case has just one small hole, and is in fantastic condition with full logo and original finish. These can sell for $40 and up alone. Also includes a pdf version of an original manual from Singer. The bobbin winder is the cool steel geared type and it works just as it should. The metal shield that had the Singer logo on the front side of the frame under the knob is missing though it can be replaced if you really want. The machine runs smooth as silk and as it is 109 years old, it is obvious that these all steel machines can last forever. No zig-zag stitches, no patterns but they made loads of attachments that do almost anything. I have several complicated ones but I am still trying to identify most. If you want a classic beauty that will sew just like it did over a century ago, this is a great one. If this had the fancy "red-eye" decal package and was a bit shinier, it would cost over double, but this is a "daily-use" machine that will give you another 100 years of great sewing. PERFECT FOR THE BEGINNING OR ADVANCED SEWER This is as much a piece of history as it is an appliance. Looks BEYOND cool and runs so smooth.
