1954 Mercury Monterey

1954 Mercury Monterey 4-door. Let me just say this isn't a barn find. That phrase is used way too loosely. This "Gem"has just been lovingly passed down and each owner has respectively taken on the job of being its caretaker and has done their diligence to maintain this car to its near original condition It comes with the 256 cubic inch engine with Merc-O-Matic automatic transmission. I have not tried to start the engine but the transmission goes through all the gears. the body is straight and all chrome and stainless pieces are there. All the glass is in very good condition. It's 6 volt and all the wiring appears to be original and in really good condition. I acquired it in a deal that have other projects ahead of it and this card needs someone to accept it as it's next caretaker and finish giving it the second chance it truly deserves, rather than sit at the side of my house waiting its turn. The car appears to have been repainted green at one point in its life which appears to have been the original color. Front seat is a power seat. The front and rear floorboards are excellent. The trunk floor and spare tire well are super solid and aren't rusted out in the seams corners or rear pans. Car comes with the old school American racing five-spoke mags and have new P215/60R-15 tires mounted on the wheels. The five spokes like the rest of the car are excellently maintained. The car has power steering and comes with the Bendix Power brake system. The car comes with many new parts still in the boxes: plugs, wires, points, condenser, rotor and coil. The brakes need some TLC and it comes with new brake shoes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder and wheel bearings all still in the boxes. Also included are a set of N.O.S Taillight lenses. The rear bumper is between fair and poor chrome. Car still has the original tire jack. This has a clean Washington title.
