Description
More photos coming! I will add more photos when the bike is back from the shop. Selling my 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 because I am moving to New York. I bought it in March of 2023 and mainly used it as a commuting bike between Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. I stored it outside but under a cover. The previous owner dropped the bike at least twice, and I dropped it one time shortly after I bought it. Due to these drops and constant riding, there are a number of cosmetic scratches if you look closely enough. In a year of ownership, I have had it serviced twice at Moto Club Santa Monica (look them up, they are on the expensive side but very trustworthy and upfront; ask for Chris in Parts and Servicing). Service one (January 2024): standard oil change and tune up (check battery, brakes, etc.), brand new radiator (old one was dented when I dropped it), two new tires. Service two (ongoing as of May 10): standard oil change and tune up; new chain and sprocket. The bike is mostly stock parts, with the exception of aforementioned changes and two new side view mirrors. Excellent bike for commuting because it is light, maneuverable, and has great throttle response at city speeds. This is one of the many reasons why the Yamaha FZ-07 is an excellent first bike. I also regularly rode it on the freeway and didn't mind the wind up to about 80 mph, but admittedly road freeway much less than city streets. Finally, I did noticed some rust in the gas tank. I believe this is due to the previous owner leaving the bike in storage (I have not gone more than 2 weeks without riding it all year). I tried to have the tank replaced before I sold it, but the lead time on a new tank from Japan is 3-4 weeks, possibly more. I have an estimate from Moto Club Santa Monica to replace the tank for about $480, but I am taking $500 off from what I was previously going to ask for the bike to account for the replacement cost (originally wanted $5,000, now asked $4,500). Alternatively, GTL Advantage in North Hollywood will repair rusty tank linings for ~$500. With a new tank and proper care, this bike will last a long time. Bottom line: aside from the rust in the gas tank, which I am already accounting for in the asking price, this bike was well cared for and still rides very well. I am not trying to make money on this bike; in fact, I am losing money from all the professional servicing I have had done and my ultra-honest Craigslist description as a sign of good will to the future owner. Paid registration through August 2024. Odometer will continue to rise as I keep riding it. Cash Only. Cash in hand for test drive.
