Description

1977 Kimball 5'9" 587S Grand Piano in Viennese Oak Details about this model: Design: Inspired by Bösendorfer pianos, {featuring an ideal size of 5'8" in length and a Bosendorfer Scale Design}. During the period Kimball owned Bösendorfer in the 1990s, they had access to the same German actions used by Bösendorfer, which contributes to the styling and touch. Action: Equipped with a European-built Schwander action, known for a superb touch and feel suitable for all levels of players. Sound: Known for outstanding tonal qualities, including an expansive bass and bell-like treble range. Bench: Traditional piano bench with music storage. History: Kimball was a prominent American piano manufacturer founded in 1857, but ceased piano production in 1996. The Kimball Viennese models, particularly the Viennese Classic, were produced when Kimball owned Bösendorfer and aimed to incorporate some of their design elements. The Viennese Edition is described as having a touch that is fast and light.
