Description

Vintage West German Gerz amber ceramic beer stein featuring embossed 16th- or 17th-century musician/minstrel figures, and a pewter lid Origin: Made in West Germany by Gerz, known for traditional salt-glazed and relief-molded beer steins. Typically produced by the Gerz pottery company during the mid-to-late 20th century (circa 1960s–1980s). Material: Amber-glazed ceramic stoneware with a metallic pewter lid. Relief carvings showing Renaissance or medieval musicians playing instruments, with textured detailing on the handle. Lid: Attached pewter (Zinn) lid with a thumb-lift lever. Dimensions: 6" H to top of lid x 5.5" W to end of handle. Great vintage condition with some discoloration on the lid as shown in the pictures. Discoloration on pewter is usually caused by natural oxidation, tarnish, or exposure to acidic foods and moisture over time. Cash Only.
