I acquired this piece and later had an antique expert take a look at it. I was told it is from the 1920’s and was maybe a game table (where the top unfolded to play games on it) but more likely it is the base of a radio from the roaring 20’s. Like many 100 years old items, the radio probably stopped working or was damaged before it was given a new life by crafting a table top for the base. The base is made of walnut and is in excellent condition. The top is in near perfect condition and is made of Birds Eye maple. I paint furniture and could not bring myself to cover this gorgeous wood that has survived a century! I was told the value is around $250. I would like to see this go to someone who will appreciate its beauty and both slather it with paint 😊🙏
