AWESOME Custom KidKraft Metropolis Kids Train Set

I put this together for my son when he was younger because I didn't like the idea of always having to have the set sitting on the floor or a table. Therefore, I glued all the pieces together and mounted it to a piece of plywood. I set the screws in the wood (see photo) so they wouldn't scratch the floor. It is well put together. I also modified it so that you can add track to the outside of the main section by using a sloping piece (see photo). This allows the kids to build an endless combination of tracks that go on and on. There is also a "XING" piece that connects them into a looping system. My kids used to love playing with this for hours especially around the Christmas tree. Finally, I cut two holes in it so that I could hang it on the wall (see photo) when not in use. This worked well and kept it out of the way and was cool wall art in my son's room. The set itself was originally over $100 and we have a BUNCH of extra track, cars, and other accessories. Some from IKEA and some from other sources. Notice the box of extra pieces in the first couple pictures. My son is a little older now, so he decided it was time for another child to enjoy it. Thanks for looking!
