The NordicTrack FreeStride FS5i is a trainer that combines the toning benefits of a stepper, the cardio benefits of a treadmill, and the total-body conditioning of an elliptical. It features a floating suspension system that allows you to control the length of your stride. It also uses iFit technology to create custom workouts using Google Maps. These are still selling at $1150, get yours for $250 I got mine used a few years back. It's missing a few covers but fully functional. Here is my review: It's a large but very sturdy machine. The mechanics of running are much better than others I have owned, as each appendage is independent from each other, meaning, it is a more natural flow, and better workout for your efforts. You can not favor a strong side. It's natural movements. You can use a low resistance for sprint type motions with a long stride, or turn it all the way up for an elevated stair climb. I think that is what makes it very unique. We are looking at getting a wall-mount machine and need the space. I guarantee it will be one of the best machines you will own.
