For sale is a nice example of the very best receiver Sansui offered in 1980. Ultra-rare to find one fully functional and in this condition. Contrary to popular opinion that audiophile electronics peeked in the late seventies for Sansui, they put out some great equipment in the early to mid eighties. Some of the later X-balanced Amps are simply outstanding. This receiver is really the evolution of the G series design that proceeded it in the late seventies. At 160 watts RMS driven, its stands with some of the most powerful receivers built. This is Sansui's very clean and fast pure power DC design which was known for its very low distortion. Given its retail price around $1100.00 in 1980, Sansui packed it full of their best engineering. The tuner section of this is awesome along with two top of the line phono stages to run your turntables. It provides two tape and one Aux selections as well. It has three speaker selections available. Sounds amazing, with rich, warm, clean, powerful audio. This thing has enough power output to have a block party, power a high-school dance, thump a night-club, etc. It has enough power to drive three sets of speakers to ear-bleeding levels. It does so with a minimal of fuss, with 0.015% distortion. Every function, knob, button, input, output tested and working as intended. Perfect working order. Cosmetically nice, with signs of use. Case is nice, but not perfect. Cleaned, dusted, lubricated, deoxidized, inspected and tested. 100% working. Can demo in person in Fountain Valley area.
