Description

This striking hand-carved bamboo fisherman statue features a serene elder figure wearing a natural bark/root sheath cloak, giving the piece a dramatic organic texture. The sculpture retains visible bamboo nodes and a hollow base, which is characteristic of authentic bamboo folk art. Pretty sure the fishing rod he is holding is not the original fishing pole. Measures 25" high and 8" wide. Its tall vertical form makes it ideal as a floor statue or statement decor piece for rustic, Asian-inspired, coastal, cabin, or folk art interiors. Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Natural variations in bamboo color, grain, and bark texture are present and expected. No structural cracks or repairs observed.
