Description
9 1/2" clear glass oil /kerosene lamp likely circa 1920s. As the story goes, in the early 1900s, the father of a teenage girl would choose how much oil to put into the lamp. When the lamp went out, the date was over and the young man took his leave. Has an insulator shaped base with swirls in the clear glass and an A (or a 4, can’t tell) inside a pentagon incised on the bottom. 4 1/2" tall clear glass chimney with a stippled top rim. There is a screw-in brass gallery with wick wheel. The wick wheel is stamped "The Acorn". It is weathered but well kept, and comes with the packaging for safe travel.
