ABOUT THE AUTHOR ... that would be me! Originally born in Canada, Jeff became a U.S. (dual) citizen in 2009 and a Residente Permanente of Mexico a short time after. He has traveled to many locations worldwide, in some cases lived in them, in pursuit of this planet’s major game fish — including much of Canada, U.S.A., Midway, Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, Fiji, New Zealand, and Australia. He lived in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for nine years, — through the area’s developing 1990s — where he had several fishing related businesses, including a tackle shop, a lure manufacturing company, guided surf fishing trips and boat charter operation, as well as a very popular blog called “The Klassen Comment,” before returning stateside to develop other fishing related opportunities. Jeff is a long time, active member of the International Game Fish Association (IGFA), and at this time has 14 world records to his credit, as well as being a two time recipient of the “IGFA 25 pound plus Snook Club.” He has written dozens of articles for different fishing publications and has been the subject of many more. Many know him through his popular national fishing TV series Surf & Shore Fishing the World which aired late 1990s on OLN and Fox Sports, where he put forth a more laid back, humorous approach to hosting, as well as being the guest on other fishing shows.
