Description
Capo-di-Monte porcelain is a porcelain manufactory in the vicinity of Naples, Italy. It is known for its molded figurines and decorative flower encrustations. The factory was established in 1743 by Charles of Bourbon, King of Naples, and his wife, Maria Amalia of Saxony. Production was moved to Madrid when Charles became King of Spain. The factory was reopened in 1771, but closed in 1806. The trademark was acquired by Ginori in 1925, and production continues today. German porcelain trinket boxes were popular during the mid-20th century, often featuring delicate floral designs and intricate details. These boxes were used to store jewelry, powder, and other small personal items. They were often given as gifts and were considered a symbol of elegance and refinement.
