Water is first directed through the pre-filter's activated carbon foams which remove toxins and odors, then into the main chamber with fine and coarse filter foams of differing pore densities and Hel-x Biomedia - all providing surface area ideal for the settlement of beneficial bacteria. My power went out one day and the filter started to leak, I wasn’t home when it happened. I believe it could just be the seal tight band, but even after that it still runs perfectly without leaking while it’s on. Just the one time it happened but I’m sure it’s an easy fix. Even after it still worked and function perfectly.
