Description

Mel Tiess was a sculptor known for handcrafting busts and figures in the 1970s. Many of his works were plaster or resin, often depicting cultural icons. Date (1977): Since Elvis died in August 1977, this bust was made right at the height of the first wave of memorial tributes — which makes it contemporary to his passing, not a later reproduction.
