Description
Selling my Roof Space RS2 Rooftop Tent. It’s 10 months old and has only been used for 10-15 nights total and the original mattress was only used for 1 night before I replaced it with an air mattress (the tent will come with the stock mattress because I’m keeping my air mattress). It comes with all the poles for the awnings on the two side windows and front entrance, and the aluminum ladder as well. This tent is large for a 2 person and is best for up to 2 people and a child or 2 people and a dog. The tent also includes the $300 Thermal Insulation Tent that clips inside for winter camping, and the $150 Panorama Screen/Mosquito Net for summer camping or hanging out. I’m selling the tent because I just don’t go camping enough to justify keeping it on my truck and I don’t have the space to store it. I was drawn to the Roof Space tent for a few reasons. The biggest difference between this tent and the competition is the “Panorama Mode”, where the entire front of the tent zips down to give you the most open air experience of any tent on the market. It’s so cool and you feel like you’re out in nature, not trapped in a tent with small windows. The other big selling point for me was it has a 100% Aluminum hard shell with aluminum and stainless steel hardware inside and out, so it’s ridiculously durable. You can bolt on cross bars or T-Tracks to mount bikes, kayaks, recover gear, etc. on top if you want and you don’t have to worry about cracking or damage like you do with fiberglass, ABS plastic, or soft shell tents. The tent has an 800lb load rating even without the ladder being used as a support, which is stronger than anything else on the market. Roof Space even took the time to do lab aerodynamic testing to make sure the tent was sleek and didn’t make obnoxious wind noise. The tent opens in less than a minute thanks to easy to use clasps and gas struts that do most of the work for you, and only takes a couple minutes to pack up. You can store some blankets and pillows inside with the stock mattress or if you want to do an air mattress like I did you can fit tonnnsss of stuff inside the shell. The tent stays plenty dark to sleep during the day and then if you clip in the Thermal Insulation Tent it keeps you warm and makes the interior 100% pitch black in the middle of the day. The tent’s dimensions are: Exterior Packed: 61.5” long, 53.5” wide, and 9.4” tall. Interior: 98” Long, 59” Wide, and 51” tall at the highest point Mattress: 80.7” x 53.1” Storage space: 1 foot of space at the foot of the bed to store bags, shoes, and more. Weight: 147lbs including mattress This tent will easily fit on any Full or Mid Size Truck, SUV, Hatchback, etc. They’ve even put them on top of Porsche’s and Mini Coopers! After having the tent for 10 months I never really found any drawbacks to it and I love the tent, like I said I just don’t use it that much to justify keeping it. Retail is $3500 for the tent + $300 for the Thermal Insulation Tent + $150 for the Panorama Screen for a total of $3950 before tax or freight. I’m asking $2650 OBO. I can even install it on your vehicle if you have cross bars or a rack that is compatible because I work at a shop that installs these every day.
