VINTAGE 9’9” CON BISECT SURFBOARD

For sale is this vintage ultra rare CON BISECT 9’9” x 22 1/2”x 2 1/2” surfboard with the original bolt that locks the two pieces together. These boards were made as an early attempt at travel surfboards, the idea was that it would be easier to take on an airplane if it could be taken apart into two pieces. There are very few bisects out there, and even fewer made by CON COLBURN. This particular board was purchased from the 2019 California Surf Gold Auction for considerably more than my asking price. It was bought with the intentions to be displayed in a surf museum that never came into fruition- it belongs in a museum. That surf museum was to be built in Deerfield Beach, Florida and would have been the largest surf museum in Florida and possibly on the entire Eastern Seaboard. However the city officials in Deerfield Beach dragged their feet so long and dropped the ball repeatedly.
