Everything works great and is kept in great condition! My son loved this for a while but I want to upgrade to a swing with more of a swaying motion! I have washed all machine washable parts with Dreft (hypoallergenic liquid baby detergent), so it is ready for use! However, I always recommend re-washing as it may collect dust. From a home with no indoor pets. The insert is designed for babies "up to 15 lbs". Definitely useful during those crucial first few months when babies need extra support and positioning. My baby definitely was comfortable with the insert. I removed the infant insert when my baby got too big, around 3 months old. The swing itself is intended for ages 0-9 months.
