These Lane Cedar chests sell from 100-1000 dollars in antique shops and auctions. Lane Cedar Chest Manufacture date: 02/24/1956 Altavista, VA The chest is in very good, solid physical condition, with the exception of the bottom outside drawer (depicted as parts inside the chest), and the cedar still smells as richly as I imagine it must have when it was new. The exterior shows clear signs of age, while the interior is in amazing shape. The self-locking lock and button release are original (pre-recall) and fully functioning, as are the hinges, tray, and seals. The spare key is still contained in the envelope attached to the drawer. Sadly, have only the spare key. Much of, or perhaps all of the original documents are still in the chest as well. The original drawer parts seem to mostly be present, with the obvious omission of the hardboard panel that would have made up the bottom of the drawer and one of the pulls. I picked this up with the intent to restore it, but just do not have the time these days.
