Two weeks ago, I drove an hour to a used car dealership in Fairfield to test drive a Lexus I had been eyeing. The sales person didn’t know anything about the vehicle’s history or specs. We walk over to go see it and as soon as he opened the door of the car, the nastiest odor came out of it. The car smelled like a homeless person had rubbed his entire body all over this 6 month old 2025 Lexus ux300h!!! Then, when the salesperson tried to start the vehicle, the battery was dead. I drove an hour for THIS??? Dejected, I decided I would stop off at the nearest Lexus dealership to see their inventory of certified pre owned vehicles.

To say my experience at Lexus of Concord was better than the sh*t show I was just at would be the understatement of the year. As soon as I walked into the Lexus cpo showroom, I was greeted by Dakota right off the bat. I told him what I was looking for and he knew instantly off the top of his head how many they had in stock. We walk over to his desk and he shows me the cars available and all the features. I had been doing my research so I knew exactly what I wanted and it just so happened that they had a car with those options at a very reasonable price. Since it was certified pre owned by Lexus, I knew the condition of the car had to meet their incredibly high standards and ultimately i would be protected by their excellent warranty. The vehicle started up without a hitch and was gorgeous inside and out. It also didn’t smell like a homeless encampment inside like the previous one I had sat in earlier in the day. 🙄
The experience I had between these two dealerships could not have been more different!

Dakota made the entire process EASY. He was knowledgeable, professional and helpful. He allowed me to start all the paperwork in purchasing the vehicle even though I wouldn’t be able to leave a down payment for another 4 days. Even though he’s only been with Lexus for a month or 2, you would never be able to tell based on how knowledgeable he was about the brand and his product. It was so refreshing to work with someone who was not just competent at his work, but excelled at it. It really does make a difference when you’re making a huge purchase! It puts your mind at ease when the salespeople know what they’re doing and are good at it. That alone was enough for me to stick with Lexus of concord and to stop my search on all those other used car sites.

I would be remiss to not give a shout out to Ali in finance for hooking it up with a reasonable interest rate given my less than ideal credit score. He was easy to work with and made the financing portion of my buying experience painless.

The moral of this story is - you get what you pay for. Used cars sold elsewhere are cheaper for a reason. Personally from my experience, the cars aren’t taken care of, their sales people aren’t knowledgeable (or competent) and they just don’t care. Lexus of concord is the complete opposite of that and I’m so glad I stopped in last Saturday evening. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to purchase my dream car and for taking care of me throughout the entire process!
