Description
This antique Egyptian carved sandstone statue of an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh is quite the collector's piece. Placed on a shelf or mounted as wall art, this bust is well worth a look. This piece was made by local Egyptians for affluent visitors who traveled to Egypt on educational "Grand Tours" of various archaeologically significant sites between 1780-1920s; a time also known as the "Egyptian Revival Period." The piece was created in the likeness of an ancient treasure, all the way down to the distress of time. Purchasers would then take them home and display/store them with care, and ultimately giving us the opportunity to enjoy these unique pieces! This Egyptian sandstone carving is attested to as authentic and to have been made in Egypt during the “Grand Tour/Egyptian Revival” era by Mr Matthew Wicks of Ancient Hands, Ltd, and is accompanied by a digitally signed PDF copy of its "Provenance & Ownership" documentation. DIMENSIONS: 4.5" H x 3.75" W x 2.5" D
