Description

1958 Alaskan Camper Ready for vintage camping adventures! Factory hydraulic roof. Up for camping / down for travel. All new seals in hydraulic pistons. Alaskans are actually truck campers! I'm a metal fabricator and converted it to travel trailer 3 years ago. Brand new 6’x8’ utility trailer used for the conversion. So that means new axle, new leaf springs, new wheels, and tires. Upgraded rims Upgraded Maxxis tires Camper itself is unrestored and all original except dinette cushions. Was careful to find new upholstery that’s almost an exact match to the original cloth. Dinette converts to comfortable full-size bed. Propane stove and rebuilt propane furnace both work. Original icebox also functional. Wood interior is in very good condition. Most windows and roof vent removed / cleaned / properly resealed. Bottom half of side windows has some staining and minor wood damage. May be 60 years of sweating or minor water intrusion. Just want to be 100% honest and up front. The wood overall is in really nice shape...but being 60+ years old, it's not perfect. Total weight with all my gear is 1,900 lbs. Can be towed by most 4 cylinder trucks / SUVs. I really LOVE this trailer. Hate to let it go but had to buy a brand new trailer because of new relationship. If you're not familiar with Alaskans...start googling. They are the Airstream of truck campers. Many units from the 50's and 60's are still on the road because of their impeccable build quality and quality materials. They are still hand-crafted new and prices start at $30,000! $3,900 or best offer. I will not respond to ridiculous lowball offers.
