Description
This rattan ( heavy wicker) trunk was used by Francis Wagner (my grandfather, a composer of some famous marches, and the father of the celebrated Roger Wagner, conductor of the Los Angeles Master Chorale by his name. Francis immigrated from France to Los Angeles in 1922, using this trunk. It's solid for use as a storage place, or to refinish and use as a piece of furniture (coffee table, etc.). The interior lining gives evidence of it's over 100 years of age, with stain marks at each place it has contacted the framework all these years. The handle on the right side will need reinstallation by a wicker expert.
