Description

I know of the other Gasogene lamps like these in existence. But they are white opaline. One is in a museum in Los Angeles and the other two are on Etsy for 1,200 or 1,800. This dates back to the earliest form of water purification done in France by actually mixing co2. Originally the glass would have been covered by a steel mesh or rattan weave to prevent injury . Because they would always eventually burst. Thank goodness someone had the sense to preserve this work of art.
