Description

2004 Subaru Forester 2.5XS AWD 4 Cylinder For Sale 3500 This is my Sons car just selling it for him to get it out of my driveway. He got a new car and no longer drives it. And I'm tired of moving it. This is a solid used vehicle with potential if someone's interested. Pros: Recent CARFAX, 1 previous owner, no major wrecks, one minor "look at pictures front fender" Replace the shell $300. Non smoker / OCD NO MODS Interior is almost mint "look at pictures" Tires all good Brakes are all recent with the rear brakes being completely rebuilt. Servicing all good, transmission flush, transmission solenoids cleaned and filter changed Everything works A/C etc. "EXCEPT CD PLAYER" Cons: Back to the transmission. The solenoid for shifting from 2nd to 3rd needs to be replaced you can get them from EBAY. I went into the tranny pan and tested them and cleaned the ones that open and close. I have the pictures of the solenoids. But the problem remained. If you let the car warm up for 3-5 minutes it's fine no issues at all drive all day. If you hop in and start it from a cold start and try to leave it will hesitate to shift to 3rd or won't shift at all. But if you shift manually, it's fine as well after it warms up go back to drive gear and you can drive all day. It's been like this for over a year now so it's confirmed as a solenoid issue. I just don't want to work on his car anymore, lol. And we don't need it anymore. I can show you exactly what the issue is during test drive. If this makes no sense to you just contact me I will explain it verbally? It's a Subaru with Horizontal motor so it leaks oil "some". I can show you the spots in my driveway there small, another reason I want it gone, lol. They all do unless you rebuild the motor. And it's not time to rebuild this motor unless you just wanted to do so. It's got plenty of miles left in it with the correct maintenance and driving habits. Some hail damage but not excessive look at pics, and the front right fender damage look at pics. It could use some shocks and struts. But it it's not necessary anytime soon. Please no solicitors I can sale things on my own thanks. No low-ballers we don't have to sell it just want to. Feel free to bring your mechanic friend and look it over. I need to do the test driving there is no insurance on the vehicle so it's safer that way. We will only be driving in my general area for this reason as well.
