A faux Garnet that is a glass bead hand wrapped in copper that is colored gold. The pendant is attached to an 18" 18k gold filled chain that has an "S" closure. The chain is 18k gold filled. If you are not familiar with the term ' gold filled', it is much better than gold plated in which a fine mist of gold is sprayed onto a metal surface that over time flakes off. An 18K filled chain contains a minuscule copper wire with holes. The gold is pumped into the wire and pours out of the small holes until the wire is completely covered in gold. It doesn't flake as gold plated material, and some people who are hard on jewelry actually prefer gold filled as it is not as soft as pure 18k gold.
