Description
If you’re reading this listing then the car is still available. Please read through it all as I’ve described the car and all its features to the best of my abilities. Up for sale is my 1999 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS coupe in desirable World Rally Blue paint and equipped with a 5 speed manual transmission. I bought the car in early 2022 and have been slowly restoring and improving it during my ~7,000 miles of ownership. With the classic Subaru blue and gold, this car attracts attention everywhere it goes and has the iconic boxer rumble to boot. Upgrades: - Forged 17” BBS Japan STI wheels refinished in gold 17x7 +48 with BBS center caps - New Falken RT615K+ Tires 225/45r17 (~1,000 miles on them) - JDM Version 7 STI front bucket seats - JDM Version 7 STI rear seats - JDM Version 6 STI rear wing - JDM clear corner lights and side markers - JDM taillights - JDM Pink "i" (Impreza) front badge - Prodrive Bilstein STI dampers - Eibach springs - Momo Tuner steering wheel - NRG quick-release hub - JDM STI 5-speed carbon fiber accent shift knob - JDM STI Metal Pedals and Footrest - JDM STI in-dash cupholder - Broadway large rear-view mirror - Touch screen head-unit with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Most of the modifications were done prior to my ownership. I’ve mainly focused on sourcing various interior pieces and trim, as well as general and preventive maintenance. I take very good care of my cars and this gem was no exception. The engine oil and filter get changed every 3,500 miles with full synthetic. The battery was replaced on 12/12/22, alternator on 12/26/22, and I just recently replaced the catalytic converter with a lower mileage OEM unit (they’re discontinued) to ensure it’ll pass smog and not have excessive emissions/smells for the foreseeable future. All 4 tires were replaced on 8/03/23 and have just over 1,000 miles on them. Aside from the exhaust (I don’t know which brand it is, but it sounds really good), the engine and transmission are both stock. The prior owner told me the engine had been gone through with fresh gaskets, spark plugs, wires, along with transmission and differential fluids. I don’t have any paperwork to back this up, but the car drives beautifully and I have no reason to doubt the engine’s health. It starts up every time, has no leaks, and I wouldn’t hesitate taking this on road trips. All electronics work well, the sunroof is fully operational, and the AC blows ice cold. Paint shines nicely with minor blemishes and chips for a 25 year old car (not sure if one of the previous owners had it repainted). In the spirit of transparency, the car does have a few cons: The previous owner reported that water had leaked into the trunk (a very common problem with these Imprezas) and caused rust in the center of the spare tire area. He had the rust cut out and patched with some sort of rubber sealant (please see trunk photo). I planned on having a welder patch in a piece of metal there to replace the rubber, but it hasn’t been a priority yet as it’s just cosmetic and remains under the carpet anyway. However, during car washes water still drips into the trunk from somewhere that I haven’t been able to find yet. I resealed the JDM taillights, as that’s a common spot for leaks, and planned to reseal the STI wing next (another common spot for leaks). As it stands, I remove the trunk carpet before washes and dry up the drops of water that get into the trunk afterwards. Not a big deal, but it is something to note. In addition, the touch screen head-unit works great, but won’t turn off once in a blue moon. I’m assuming either the unit itself or the wiring needs to be adjusted, but I haven’t had a chance to sort this out yet. Otherwise, it plays music via bluetooth or wired Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smoothly and the touchscreen is responsive. I think that covers everything! I absolutely adore this thing and am only considering selling to consolidate a few of my cars and make space for another that I’ve had my eye on for a while. The car has a clean title under my name and is ready to transfer to the new owner. It just passed STAR smog and registration was paid as well. Not in any rush to sell nor do I need help selling it. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to check out the car. Thanks!
