Description

Greetings! We here at The oddWood Institute for Loud Shiny Things and Expensive Japanese Paperweights are very pleased to offer this rare and unusual machine - the Swiss Army Knife of vintage receivers, the Kenwood KR-6170 "Jumbo Jet". This glorious unit has been cleaned, deoxited and fully tested. In order to share the features of this amazing receiver, our Department of Making Stuff Up has come across this transcript of a secret meeting between Kenwood employees, circa 1971: MR NAKAMURA: I have had too much sake. MR HASHIMOTO: I also have had too much sake. MR NAKAMURA: I feel that we make fine receivers, but they need more buttons. MR HASHIMOTO: Yes. And knobs. MR NAKAMURA: I am also fond of switches and sliders. MR HASHIMOTO: These controls that you speak of... they should probably do things. MR NAKAMURA: Yes. We shall take one of our fine receivers and add four sets of speaker outs, a real, assignable spring reverb, a 12-pattern drum machine with it's own tempo and tone controls, two guitar and mic inputs, a two hour mechanical timer, a power limiter with three settings, a tone color control with six settings, preamp out and amp in jacks, hi/lo filters and a voltage selection switch. MR HASHIMOTO: Excellent. I have already constructed this working prototype out of napkins, paperclips and empty sake bottles. We shall begin production tomorrow. MR NAKAMURA: Sweet. So, there you have it. Is it the first karaoke machine? Is it a recording studio? Did Led Zeppelin use this very unit to record 'Stairway to Heaven'? The answer to all of these questions is probably yes or no. As always, will demo. Please check out my other offers for more cool stuff. Thanks! All lowball offers will be forwarded to our CEO, Winston Godzilla Smith, who will not respond to them because he is a dog.
