Description

1981 Johnson 15hp long shaft (20") . This is a 2-stroke, and takes 50:1 pre-mix. I thoroughly went through this motor with the intent of using it for trolling, and as my emergency "get me home" motor. As such, it needed to be a solid runner - cosmetics were secondary. Recent work done: Converted from short shaft to long shaft with original OMC parts New CDI New thermostat New water pump and impeller Carb removed, ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt. Exhaust/cooling plates removed and all cooling water passages descaled/ cleaned of deposits. Recoil starter removed, cleaned and lubed New fuel hose New cooling indicator hose The motor runs great, and shifts easily in/ out of gear. It "pees" strong and stays cool. The cylinder compression is 99 and 98. I'm only selling this motor because I recently sold the boat that I intended to use it on. My new boat is smaller, and this motor is too big. The tank and hose shown are not included.
