The Red Congo stands out with its vibrant red new leaves that mature to a deep green, often retaining some reddish hues. It has an upright, spreading growth pattern, unlike many vining Philodendrons. This plant is a great choice for indoor spaces, due to its air-purifying qualities, helping to remove toxins, like formaldehyde and benzene from the indoor environment. It also does well outdoors, on a patio or under a large tree. They are considered relatively easy to care for, requiring moderate watering and occasional fertilization. While they prefer bright indirect light and higher humidity, they can also adapt to lower light conditions and average household humidity levels. It's a hybrid, derived from a cross between Imperial Red and another unidentified Philodendron.
