I replaced the entire drivetrain with new sram apex less than a year ago.. new shimano caliper brakes. Brand new matching pedals and grips and stem cap. True wheels. Wheels holding air . Simple caliper brakes work great (these were also upgraded from the cannondale ones that came with it) - pedals are dual / flat and clip in!
