I just have always kept the tray over it. My nephew pulled a thread on one of the seat cushions, its in a picture. Under the ottoman the material is ripped from our son but it hasnt damaged anything that is visible or the integrity of the ottoman. Pillows and tray included if you want them. Potentially throw blanket too if you'd like. We are moving and just purging just about everything.
