It can remain portable, or you can permanently install it in your boat's cabinetry. Condensation is discharged overboard and not drained into the bilge. All you have to do is plug in the Krusin Kool and drop the pump into the water. There are no hatches to fit, and it cools with 7,000 BTUs while drawing only 5.5 amps at 115 VAC. This unit was used maybe twice and was then stored. It is in excellent, like new condition. I tested it in my bath tub and it worked beautifully, blowing ice cold.
