SAVANT REM-1000 Pro System Touch Screen Universal Remote and Base. avant has revealed its new Remote that allows users to control a multitude of devices, including Sonos speakers, Apple TV, cable boxes, Roku streaming sticks, and lights. The Savant Remote is part of the company's line of affordable automation devices aimed at the entry-level crowd. The aim with the device, says CEO William Lynch, is to "create an easy to use but incredibly powerful entertainment interface, and address the major sources of frustration with traditional and universal remotes."” Using the Remote, consumers can control a selection of more than 380,000 entertainment devices currently on the market, and seamlessly switch among them. It comes with a high-resolution touch screen, and communicates with the devices via Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi, which means there's no line-of-sight required between the Remote and the entertainment system.
