Most budget guitars sold today are 41 inch Dreadnaught guitars which are often cumbersome to play, especially sitting down. The Fender FA125OS literally breaks the mold and offers a guitar with a smaller upper body, while leaving the bottom part of the guitar wide enough to produce impressive bass. Auditorium guitars, which are also referred to as orchestra or OM guitars are a bit smaller than a dreadnought, with a 15-inch-wide lower bout and a body depth that tapers from 4-1/8 inches to 3-1/4 inches. It is a mid-size guitar, with great balance, volume, and projection. It has more presence than the Parlor or “O” guitars, but lacks the heavy bass response of a dreadnaught. This makes for a good finger-style guitar, or one used for solo gigs. Unfortunately, Fender does not make this model anymore and has moved the price point of OM guitars to $450 and up.
