Works with SSD but i also used an extender SATA for large hard drives. You must mount the drive in a bios way something called logic drive before you can get an operating system to detect the drive, so dont painc, if you dont see the drive. If you want to install proxmox, start with v6.4 then upgrade to v7 then v8, if you start with v7/v8 you get a black screen on boot. Will not provide a SSD/Hard drive for privacy but you can get them cheap on Amazon $10/$20
